Week 2 Day 3

It was Friday the 13th and I am not wrong, it’s a day whereby it was considered unlucky by the English. But to me, Friday the 13th seems to be just like another normal day usually.

For me, the day started off with having school as usual, washed up and headed out. We headed to school and it was super cold with wind blowing at a rate of 11km/hr. We ate some tang bao on the way to school.

Tang Bao in the making

The area

Finally, we got them

We had lessons with Mr. Wee. He covered topic 3 on contract arrangement & 4 on contract document.
For topic 3, he touch on items such as contracts which can be simple or formal; building contracts; the three elements in a contract; four ways of terminating a contractor’s offer and contract arrangements which covers the advantages, disadvantages, characteristic and application of the four contract arrangement which are the fixed price contract, schedule of rates, prime cost, and design and build.

For topic 4, he touch on items such as the difference of contract documents and tender documents. Another thing is the tender/contract document adopted for building construction on Bill of Quantities basis consist of instruction to Tenders, form of Tender and Appendix, form of Agreement, form of Bond, Conditions of Contract, Special Conditions of Contract, Specification, Bill of Quantities, Daywork Schedule and Contract Drawings.

After lesson, we headed to the roadside area near school to buy food to eat.

We saw something which was interesting, which “Shi Tou Bing” which translates to stone biscuit. If you analyze the word, you will think that there cannot be a stone biscuit being sold in the roadside area. It was actually a biscuit that they fried with the help of stones. That is how they got their name from.

The making in progress

I also ate something that was like in a cone like shape, with flour as the corn and red bean fillings. The taste was quite normal.

Ate tofu too

We went back home (Alicia, Baohui and me) instead of going out with the rest for shopping. Reached back home and took at long, warm, nice shower as nobody was around.

I saw the aftermath of e disaster

I headed to sleep after that. I was awoken by some noise which was caused unintentionally due to some laughter. Then found out it was 6pm already whereby, I headed over to Alicia and Baohui there as I agreed to meet them at 6pm.

I wanted to go out to eat but end up was made to sleep over there as they said I was sick. I found out that I had flu and a slight fever with a face as pale as a sheet of paper. Alicia passed me a blanket and a pillow while Baohui cooked magi mee for me. Both of them offered me medicine.

My dinner

They requested me to stay there as it was kind of noisy, as I did not want to sleep on their bed; I offered to sleep on the sofa instead. Thus, I slept in their living room while they went to get their dinner.

After awhile after they left, Xiao Wah came up to actually changed out as they wanted to sing karaoke. She asked me whether I was alright being alone and anything she could do for me. She turned off the lights after that and left. When I was trying to get to sleep, a noise came from the door then it was Hui Xin that came up. Then, followed by Xiao Wah.

Alicia and Baohui came back, with me then leaving to go back to my apartment. I headed straight to bed after I reached back to the apartment. I was woken up by Hui Xin to drink some soup that Cheong Rui brought back to the apartment. After that I turn in for the night. If am not wrong, this is the worst Friday the 13th I had.

P.S. I was really touched with the people around me that care so much about me when I was sick. Really want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you especially Alicia and Baohui. Once more THANK YOU every single one of you for the care and concern =]
