WEEK 4 DAY 7

I woke up at 7.45am like that then started preparing and ate while waiting to use the restroom. We left our hostel area at around 8.30am.

Today lesson was changed to an outdoor one instead of a classroom lesson. It was at the area called “She Shan” which translates to English as Snake Mountain.

First stop was to a Taoist temple.

The Entrance

We got to have a look around the temple, took pictures. We got to know about a shape whereby Taoist usually makes use of which is like a star shape which is actually called Eight Diagrams (Ba Gua).

Inside

Before this, there was the kite man.

Then, after the first part of the day, comes the second part of the day.
We had lunch near our apartment first.

Lunch

For girls it was Alicia, Baohui, Eileen, Li Zhen, Yan Khee, Xiu Jin, Bernice and I and for guys it was Jian Wen and Kia Fu. We headed to Carrefour, for karaoke. The place there was very glamorous whereby it was a high class place. It was like a huge difference from Singapore’s KBOX outlets. It was not those tatted and torn like it had been used for a long time and the rooms were huge and cozy. We sang for 3 hours, and then went for lunch.

The star treatment

We either had steak or chicken. The place was known for the steak. We all ordered a meal that came with salad that you could take yourself, a bowl of soup, 2 pieces of bread, a cup of cold green tea and a main course. The cold green tea was not really nice, and for the 2 pieces of bread and bowl of soup was average. For the main course there was some problem with a portion of the steak and a portion of a chicken. The steak was overcooked causing it to be unable to be cut and for a portion of the chicken it was undercooked causing Alicia to abandon that part. It could be seen through the part of the meat being reddish. Also for a side order we ordered, the cold pudding was nice but for the hot pudding, I think it was the same taste just that the pudding was in liquid form. The bubble tea severed at their store tasted like a cup of diluted coffee with milk.

After that, while on the way back home, Bernice, Yan Khee and I went to get a ice cream even though it was freezing cold due to the strong chilly wind. But it still tasted awesome to be eating ice cream in a cold weather. A ice cream that you need not worry that it will drip as it would not melt and it is like a Chinese saying “poison against poison” to solve something. It is like after eating the ice cream we did not feel that cold. Guess it may due to the decrease in body temperature which was caused by the ice cream we ate.

We headed home for the day.

Then at night it was story telling time and what more for it to fit into the night would be a sharing of ghost stories and they are true ones too based on personal experience. I did not have any ghost stories to say thus I was there keeping quiet and just listening in. Jin Rong and Weiyang was telling the stories while the rest who were Xiao Wah, Hui Xin, Cheong Rui, Jack Boon, Kuan Wee and I were listening in mostly and some of them chipped in too.

After that Xiao Wah slept over and we headed to bed.
