WEEK 2 DAY 2

I woke up around 7am to wash up and change to a t-shirt with a pullover on top of it as it was going to be cold which was what my friends said. Before I wanted to head out of the house, I was offered some bread to eat on the way to school. Accepted the bread with egg I think and headed out of the house. I stuffed the bread into my mouth as it needed to prepare for a wet trip to school and needed to take out my raincoat. While walking to school with a big group of friends, they started entering taxis as it was it was raining cats and dogs with the addition of strong chilly winds that can like make you feel cold till you feel the chill in your bones.

I reached school being wet and dirty due to the muddy water that caught one of my shoes with my feet in it and my jeans got dirtier. I washed up a little before lesson started.

Today was the first day of lesson been taught by a teacher at Wuhan in English with a mixture of mandarin, who was called Mr. Andy

He basically covered on the topic National Bureau of Statistic. He gave us an overall view of the different parts of China. The four economic regions of China, namely the East, Middle, West and Northeast. He covered on China’s Economic Development Prospects on items such as GDP, taxes, income and consumption price.

Lastly, he taught about the challenges of Economic, on items such as the development in future; how the aging population would affect the economic as it would affect the effectiveness and efficiency such as putting pressure on employment, new labour forces, and labour forces transformation. Also a part on limitation of public resources such as basic education, public health and social security system.

Headed to the small eateries near school after that and had our breakfast which was a Wuhan version of the famous ramily burger, it was the first time I brought it. It really tasted nice which had inside in it some meat, vegetables and sauce.

Following that, we went to buy mop, umbrellas and a pail. At that time, I took notice of a dog wandering the streets in search of some food if I am not wrong. It was looking where could traces of food be found at and it really broke my heart. It fur can be seen to be dirty. It really looks pitiful. It is something that cannot be seen normally in Singapore streets. If it was in Singapore, I guess it may have been thrown in SPCA.

During afternoon, Alicia, Baohui and I headed over to Carrefour, a shopping centre, which was located nearby to our hostel. Wanting to have our lunch there and in mind wanted to enter place which was said to be nice by the guys, however, the sign of pizza hut was irresistible to us. Thus, we had our lunch at pizza hut. It had a really nice atmosphere in there, and it was 3 storeys high and we found out it was one of the largest pizza hut outlet in about 128,000 locations in the world.

The PEOPLE

We ordered a pizza, a soup each and garlic bread.

The pizza was not that nice compared to Singapore.

For the soup, it was awesome, the crust on the top of the soup bowl. It is like when you break into the crust and eat the crust with the soup. It just tastes heavenly.

The garlic bread was different from the ones served in Singapore. In Singapore, the garlic bread uses French loaf while in Wuhan, it uses normal white bread.

We shopped after that but for presents and groceries.

We found a new shopping site that we did not notice. We ended the day by heading to pizza hut to get something for dinner as we were kind of full. I went over their apartment after reaching back my apartment.

Power tripped in my apartment in a few minutes after I reached back home, so we did not have electricity for the rest of the night. As before I reached back home from Alicia and Baohui apartment, the power tripped and Cheong Rui went down to turn the switch back on. Following that, I tripped again but when the aunty tried to turn it back on, sparks flew. So we had to wait till morning for electricity.

We had to head to other apartment for help, as we have not taken our bath. I headed to Eileen, Yan Khee and Li Zhen apartment which was located at the third floor of my apartment. Then I waited there as I did not want to come up to an apartment which was pitch dark alone as my other apartment mates were taking their bath at the first level.

However, around 12am I headed back home alone as I did not want to bother Yan Khee from her sleep and I was really far too tired. I came back to a pitch black house, luckily the rest of them reached back a few minutes later.

We headed to bed early that day.
